Tehran, YJC. Ramin Mehmanparast has said that John Baird’s accusations against Iran come from his ignorance of facts that prevail in Iran and the region.
Mehr News Agency reported that the Spokesman to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran addressed recent accusations by the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs John Baird, believing that the accusations stem from the Canadian official’s lack of knowledge regarding facts that exist in Iran and regional countries.

Mehmanparast also pointed to what he called basic problems of the ruling Conservative government in Canada such as the incessant, systematic violation of the rights of the aborigines which has raised a series of reports by UN rapporteurs.

He said "It is more fit if, instead of voicing accusations, the Canadian government considers a reasonable, realistic approach and a return to the well-known traditional policies of Canada on foreign affairs.”
