Tehran, YJC. Eight yeanlings cloned via simplified simulation are born in the Royan Institute.

Dr. Mohammadhosein Nasr Esfahani, Director of the institute said in an interview with ISNA "While cloning naturally needs advanced microscopes and other equipments and cannot be done in regular laboratories, this time it has been done in simplified form for the first time in the world and it is possible to carry out in regular laboratories.”

He added "If we manage to convey 50 embryos to the uterus we could expect to have 5 young goats, while after optimization of the simplified methodology, with 50 embryos conveyed, 9 positive pregnancies were recorded which is an exceptional record in the world.”

He said that of the 9 positive pregnancies 8 clone yeanlings were born in March and all are in good health.

Royan Institute made the first clone lamb in the Middle East seven years ago.

The institute has started projects for producing protein in clone animal milk as well as the development of vital human organs inside animal bodies.
