Iran, Norway stress widening cooperation in renewable energies

TEHRAN, January 21 - Iran and Norway emphasized boosting bilateral relations in the field of renewable energies.

Iran, Norway stress widening cooperation with Norway in renewable energiesTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardakanian said Iran and Norway can work together in renewable energies, water and wastewater fields.

In a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Norway Lars Nordrum, Ardakanian said no credit line has not been established between the two sides, and in case it will be, the two sides can cooperate in renewable energies, especially solar energy.

He noted that Iran and Norway can use treated water for agriculture as well.

The Iranian official called for Norway to have more coordination with Iran’s Foreign Investment Organization, adding, Tehran and Oslo can also work in renewable water and preventing waste of water in metropolises like Tehran.

Lars Nordrum, for his part, said the two sides can have cooperation in fields like wind farms and solar power plants after establishing credit lines.

Norway’s Export Credit Bank is going to pave the way for banking ties between the two countries and have a visit to Iran soon, he said, adding Norwegian companies working in renewable energies are taking the initial steps in Iranian market.
