Tehran, YJC. The Basij has awarded the EU chair of delegation for Iran relations with its ironic ‘Wet Gunpowder’ award.

"The Wet Gunpowder award is a cute initiative, because an international official who reveals the behavior of super-capitalism will be chosen to receive it,” said the commander of the General Armed Forces Staff Hassan Firouzabadi, Basij public relations reports.

He added that such people do the Islamic Revolution a service with their inimical behavior.

Providing comments on this year’s award he said "Based on reports we got from public opinion polls, Mrs. Cronberg will be the winner of this year’s Wet Gunpowder, given to her for her inimical behavior in the past year.”

Tarja Cronberg is the chair of the European Parliament delegation for relations with Iran and is a member of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs and its Subcommittee on Security and Defense.

Recently she led a parliamentary delegation to Iran and visited some of the country’s political leaders as well as a number of activists prominently known in relation with the disputed 09 presidential elections.

Her latter visit caused a lot of controversy by Iran’s conservative leaders.
