Tehran, YJC. Equality does not always mean justice, Supreme Leader has said, stressing that women’s employment is a second-rate issue.

Supreme Leader who was speaking to an audience of elite women on Saturday morning stated that a supreme organization has to be formed in order to regulated issues dealing with women beyond the scope of the country’s legislative, executive, and judicial branches, Mehr News Agency reports.

Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the country needs to strictly avoid reference to "illegitimate, trite, and reactionary thoughts of the West on women’s affairs.”

He pointed out that instead, the country needs to rely on Islamic teachings "in matters that are really the prominent issues about women.”

"For numerous reasons, Westerners have had a wrong impression of the issue of women. Meanwhile they have turned the same wrong impression into the world’s catchphrase, not allowing others to state their peace of mind as they do in their demagogic ways,” the Supreme Leader asserted.

"Women cannot be regarded free of the family,” he explicitly pointed out, adding "We must completely diverge from Western ways in regard to labor and gender equality.”
