Talks with US from weak position against nation’s interest

Tehran, YJC. Aref says that a position of power must be adopted in relation to all countries.

The Reformist candidate Mohammadreza Aref appeared on Jame Jam satellite channel to discuss his presidential programs. He said "A position of power must be adopted dealing with all countries. I do not know it to be in the interest of the nation to talk with the US from a weak position.”

Aref expressed regrets that figures like Hashemi and Khatami are not made use of on the global stage. He said "If I win in the elections I will definitely use the potential and experience of Mr. Khatami who is the prophet of peace on the global stage. I will also tap the capabilities and influence of Mr. Hashemi in the ME.”

Providing comments on the arts, the Reform administration Prime Minister said "There exists a security outlook towards arts which must be resolved.”

Aref also believed that public and press diplomacy must be used to improve the country’s global status.

He pointed to his 5 years of residence in the US when a Stanford student and said "To improve Iran’s status on the global stage I will surely use the experience of the Reform administration and top diplomats.”

Also an Expediency Discernment Council member, Aref asserted "We must deal and make relations with all countries from the position of power. By no means do I consider talks with the US from a weak point in the interest of the Iranian nation.”

He also provided comments on his programs in economy and said "To make use of outstanding officials who had a hand in the 3rd Development Program will be a priority for me and my coworkers and will be considered in case of victory in the elections. Using experts now abroad will also receive top priority.”
