Iran’s official warns of US efforts to send Daesh leaders to AfghanistanTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “The US is sending defeated leaders of Daesh to northern Afghanistan from Syria and Iraq despite UN constructive efforts. These efforts to preserve Daesh and terrorism

could be quite dangerous for future of Iraq, the region and the entire world,” he said in a meeting with Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Iraq Jan Kubis here in Tehran.

He said that continuous regional games employing Daesh in Afghanistan is a ‘new strategic mistake’ by the White House.

He added that holding on time election in Iraq without any delay is an important part of new political process in this country.

“We regard the approach of political interactions between Riyadh and Baghdad as positive, but efforts of Saudis to put off the election means that Saudi Arabia continues to play a destructive role in the region.”

Jan Kubis, for his part, stressed supporting Iraqi nation and government to preserve unity in Iraq and implement the Constitution.

He expressed hope that holding on time election with massive Iraqi turnout and establishing new government could make people feel they are benefiting more from Daesh failure.

He also lauded positive role of Tehran in helping battle against terrorism in Iraq.
