The updated package of sanctions against North Korea that the UN Security Council is due to consider and adopt should be focused exclusively on Pyongyang’s nuclear missile activities, a Russian diplomat said.
The sanctions should seek a resumption of the six-way talks to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula, Russia’ Ambassador to the United Nations, Vitaly Churkin told to ITAR-TASS news agency.
The diplomat pointed out that the Security Council members strongly condemned Pyongyang’s nuclear test right after North Korea conducted it on February 12th .
