TEHRAN, May 15 - Tehran’s ambassador to UK asked European signatories to its nuclear deal to produce “concrete steps” to salvage the accord.

Europe should take ‘concrete’ action to save nuclear deal: Iran

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - "We are seeking very concrete steps . . . because promises have been made, commitments have been made, but the question is the actual implementation,” Hamid Baeidinejad said in an exclusive interview with Sky News.

“We thought it’s time to make a decision, not undermine the nuclear deal, but to give the necessary important message to the international community that the JCPOA [nuclear deal] is under real threat,” he added.

“If other sides believe Iran needs to continue to be patient and things can be better, that is now not any longer valid, we have passed that stage,” Baeidinejad said. “In Iran, many institutes and politicians believe we have been late in responding and reacting to the situation.”

He added that Iran’s “severest option” was the Islamic republic pulling out of the Non-Proliferation Treaty. “If we do not find solution to the chronic issues we are facing, it could be another option. We are really hoping that the issues will be solved,” he said.

Elsewhere in this interview, Iran's ambassador to UK warned American proactive actions in the Persian Gulf and said, "Don not test us."

"While we have renounced any escalation in the region, I would assure you that Iranian armed forces are fully ready for any eventuality in the region, so they should not try to test the determination of Iran to confront any escalation in the region," he said.

On May 8, Iran announced that it would stop exporting excess uranium and heavy water, setting a 60-day deadline for the five remaining parties to the deal to take practical measures toward ensuring Iran’s interests in the face of the US sanctions.

Mogherini and the E3 foreign ministers released a joint statement, rejecting the deadline, while reiterating their commitment to the implementation of the nuclear deal.
