In an interview with Christian Broadcast Network Tuesday, he also slammed the “sudden” political correctness the news channel has adopted.
"I'm not happy with Fox at all," said the US president. "My base hates what Fox News is doing… Fox News wants to be politically correct all of a sudden.”
He made the comments as he was preparing to appear in a Fox News town hall on Thursday night from Green Bay, Wisconsin.
He also asserted that the late Fox News CEO and chairman, who was fired over sexual harassment allegations, would have acted differently.
"Roger Ailes would never have let this happen," Trump said.
Trump tweeted in August 2019 that, “Fox isn’t working for us anymore!”
“Mr. President, we don’t work for you. I don’t work for you… My job is to cover you, not fawn over you or rip you. Just report on you,” Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto said in response. “It is called being fair and balanced, Mr. President, yet it is fair to say you’re not a fan when that balance includes stuff you don’t like to hear or facts you don’t like to have questioned.”
