Tehran, YJC. Director of the Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran is to visit Ashgabat for the International Nowruz Celebrations.
As this year the International Nowruz Celebrations are being
held in Turkmenistan, Mohammad Sharif Malekzadeh, Director of the Cultural
Heritage, Handicrafts, and Tourism Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran,
and Manouchehr Jahanian, Deputy of Tourism of the organization, will visit
Ashgabat on Friday, the second say of the new Persian year.
After Nowruz was internationally recognized as the intangible
heritage of Iran and a number of neighboring countries, the first round of the
celebrations were held in Tehran, the city which was nominated the "Secretary
of Nowruz”, in 2011.
The celebrations have been held so far twice in Iran and once
in Tajikistan. The celebrations are to be held every year in one of the
countries that observe the occasion.
Besides Iran, people in Tajikistan, Turkey, Iraq,
Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kazakhstan and a number of other countries celebrate the
day.
