MOSCOW, December 10. /TASS/. Russia is interested in the capabilities of the US economy to resist the current crisis, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said in an interview to Russia’s leading television channels on Wednesday.
Medvedev said he believes that the world has not yet fully recovered from the crisis that started in 2008.

"True, the United States today is feeling a little better. It has achieved recovery growth,” Medvedev said, adding the United States was the catalyst of the previous mortgage lending crisis.

"We shall wait and see how resistant to the crisis the US economy is now. All of us are of course interested in this, because it is the engine of economic development.”

"There were periods of recovery growth in 2011-2012, but the situation in general remains rather grave,” he stated.

As an example Medvedev mentioned the EU economy, which is in a similar same position.
The German economy, he said, will grow 1.2% at the most this year.

"The French economy will show a growth rate pretty similar to ours, 0.5%,” Medvedev said. "This is not much for developing the country steadily, though.”

"The Italian economy is in recession. A number of other European countries is in recession, too. In other words, the crisis has not been overcome,” Medvedev said.

Beside, Brazil as a booming economy Russia is often compared with "is approximately in the same position, but this year it will show a 0.5% recession,” he said.

"The world has not recovered yet,” Medvedev concluded.
