TEHRAN, July 13, YJC - Iran stressed exporting technical and engineering services to Oman as the two countries held a conference in Tehran on business and investment opportunities in Oman.

Iran, Oman hold conference on investment, businessTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The conference was attended by experts, businessmen, investors, enterprise owners and some public and private sectors officials of the two countries.

Many Omani projects which need Iran’s technical and engineering services or investment were introduced to Iranian companies in the conference.

It also focused on legal and legitimate processes, banking transactions, goods transfer and challenges faced by Iranian companies in Oman as well as advantages of Iranian companies business in Oman, introducing investment and business opportunities in Oman, meeting Omani partners, discussing ways of presenting banking transactions, guarantees, insurance and tax in Oman and registration for establishing technical consortium in Omani market.

Earlier in February, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif described Iran-Oman relations as exemplary, saying Tehran and Muscat are keen to expand relations in various fields to contribute to regional and international peace and security.

Speaking at a joint press conference with Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah in Tehran, Zarif added that Iran considers no limits to the expansion of relations with Oman in all sectors.

“Oman is a good and reliable partner for the Islamic Republic of Iran and we will maintain these relations in all fields, which will be beneficial to the region and international peace and security,” the Iranian minister said.

He added that the current visit by the Omani foreign minister to Tehran shows that the two sides attach significance to promotion of cooperation, particularly in trade, commercial and economic fields as well as joint investment.

During the Omani delegation’s trip, the two countries’ officials would discuss ways to open a new chapter in broad, cordial and fraternal cooperation, he said.

Zarif added that Iran and Oman would carry out short-, medium- and long-term projects.

He noted that bilateral and multilateral cooperation as well as regional issues were discussed in talks with his Omani counterpart.

Iran and Oman have "exemplary and exceptional" ties in the region and the Iranian government and nation hail Muscat’s active role in mutual, regional and multilateral relations, Zarif said.

Oman has played a positive role in nuclear negotiations between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries and hosted several rounds of the talks.
