Tehran, YJC. It is expected that with 3 new projects in gas production operational by the end of June, Iran will be celebrating its top position in the ME for producing quality gasoline.
Currently
the country produces 66 million liters gas per day. The number must surpass 70
million with 4 projects within the current year.
One of the country’s main programs in the oil industry for the production of gas this year is to improve the octane rating and smooth combustion, eliminate the cyclic compounds including aromatics, and reduce the amount of sulfur.
Accordingly, more than 70 percent of the gas produced must meet Euro 4 and 5 standards. That means that at least 35 to 50 million liters Euro 4 or 5 gas will be distributed by gas stations per day.
In an interview with Mehr News Agency, Deputy Oil Minister Alireza Zeiqami provided comments on the production of gasoline in the EU with octane ratings above 90 and added "Currently the production and distribution of 25 million liters Euro 4 and 5 gasoline has started in our metropolises.”
