Israeli fighter targeted in Damascus countryside

TEHRAN, January 9 - Syria’s Defense Ministry announced that the air defense of the country targeted an Israeli warplane while attacking Syria, and responded to surface-to-surface missiles fired by Israeli regime.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Syria’s Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that the Israeli regime’s fighter jet carried out several air raids to Syria.

According to al-Ajel, Syria’s Ministry of Defense stated that an Israeli warplane fired several missiles to al-Ghatifa region in Damascus countryside, through Lebanese skies.

Announcing its readiness to respond to the attacks and continuation of fighting against terrorist groups, Syrian Defense Ministry stated that the country’s air defense intercepted one of the four surface-to-surface missiles fired from Tabariya of the occupied Golan Heights.

The other three missiles hit somewhere near the military positions and left just financial damages, the ministry added.

Syrian army also reported intercepting an Israeli warplane in Damascus countryside.
