Zardari to visit Tehran

TEHRAN, YJC. Asif Ali Zardari is to pay a visit to Tehran tomorrow for three-day collateral talks.

The Pakistani President, Asif Ali Zardari is to meet with Iranian officials to hold talks on mutual issues and regional circumstances.

It is said that in this visit the issue of the transfer of Iranian gas to Pakistan and the construction of an oil refinery in the country will be discussed.


In another event Pakistan’s Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said on Sunday that Islamabad is keen to go ahead with the proposed gas pipeline project with Iran in order to overcome its energy crisis.

Speaking before journalists at the Government College, Hyderabad, during a visit to his alma mater, he said, "Pakistan is facing a serious energy crisis and we want to end it as soon as possible.”
