TEHRAN, May 8 - Secretary of Iranian Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said collapsing Iranian nuclear deal would not be in the interests of the US.

‘Iran not to be passive if US starts confronting Iran’TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) – “We will not be passive if the US starts confronting Iran.”

He said the US administration and US President Donald Trump are following three approaches towards Iran, first the minimum approach which is making the deal useless, the second one is getting more concessions from the Islamic Republic of Iran and the third one is collapsing the deal.

He said European bigger mistake is their support for the second strategy of Trump.

Shamkhani reiterated that asking for new concessions for the nuclear deal would be definitely rejected by Iran.

“It will not be in the Americans’ interests if the JCPOA (Iran’s nuclear deal) collapses by their offensive... We will not be passive if the United States starts confrontation with Iran," Shamkhani said.
