TEHRAN, YJC. The Majlis Speaker has said that since US presence in Afghanistan the production of illegal drugs in the country has increased 200 times and much of the drug is transported to the US.

"Much of the drugs produced is transported from Kandahar and Bagram airports to the New Garcia airport. It is interesting that all the airports are controlled by the US Army,” Larijani said in a meeting with Mumbai State Council Speaker.
Larijani also pointed to Western behavior in the region and said "The behavior gave a negative impression of people of the region to Americans. For example in Iraq they caused the death of one million people or in Afghanistan they said they want to fight terrorism. But their presence in the country has spread terrorism there. Or, for example, since the presence of the US in Afghanistan the production of drugs in the country has increased 200 times, much of the drug produced is transported from Kabul, Kandahar, and Bagram airports to New Garcia airport in America and it is interesting that all the airports are controlled by US Army.”
Larijani believed that this proves the wrong policy adopted by the US in the region and said "Therefore it would be wise if regional countries keep close commercial ties, especially Iran and India which hold historical ties.”
