Tehran, YJC. Majlis Speaker has stressed uranium enrichment as Iran’s nonnegotiable right that does not require consent by foreigners.

Speaking in a joint meeting by parliamentary and governmental members, Ali Larijani, the Speaker of the Majlis, thanked Rouhani for his vigorous diplomacy in the UN annual gathering and said "Mr. President’s speech at the UN was quite well-thought and stately. Dr. Rouhani very successfully defended Iran’s national rights.”

He added "One of the points which was mentioned in the speeches and interviews was the principle of the Islamic Iran on nuclear issues. The atmosphere that the West built up against Iran in the past ten years boils down to saying that Iran seeks nuclear weapons.”

"What the West must consider is that the nuclear issue is one of national importance in Iran. They must take care not to get involved in childish segregationism or go into ignorance,” the Majlis Speaker further said.

Larijani asserted "The matter of enrichment does not require an act of consent by the US, or others for that matter. It does not need an order to be dictated. It is there and it does not take much to make sense of it. It is quite promising that Mr. Obama said in meeting with Netanyahu that they will set for negotiations with open eyes; because if they open their eyes well they will see the Iranian enrichment.”
