Iranian Alexa ready for operation

TEHRAN, YJC. Supreme council of Information and Communication Technology Vice Chancellor has said that the experimental operation of the “Machine Webmeter” also known as “The Iranian Alexa” is accomplished and if the fund is allocated the project will be put to public use.

 Hojjat ol-Islam Saeed Salarian provided comments that so far 3 festivals on governmental website assessment have been held and that with the operation of the mechanized assessment grounds would be laid for ranking governmental and nongovernmental websites based on quantitative and qualitative criteria. "The Iranian Alexa will operate much more strongly than the foreign one,” he said.

Salarian also added that in the past year no fund from the government has been allocated to the project and said "Like many other projects, this one is also laid down because of lack of credit. The Iranian Alexa will be operational with Rls300 million (slightly above $100 million).”

Vice Chancellor to the Supreme council of Information and Communication Technology also stated that in the Iranian Alexa websites are assessed in different classes of information, interaction, and transaction. "Governmental and private websites are included in these criteria and these three cover all websites,” he asserted.
