First Middle East hand transplantation in Iran

TEHRAN, YJC. The first transplantation of hand ever to happen in the Middle East was performed today in 15 Khordad Hospital.

The donated organ belongs to a 25-year-old with brain death from accident.

The hand was transplanted on the 38-year-old Eskandar Moghaddami Fardi who lost his hand six years before.

The operation team included Dr. Kalantari _ hospital Manager, Dr. Yavari, Dr. Pirouzi, and Dr. Arasteh.
