Tehran, YJC. Health Ministry says the educated are unwilling to have more than one child.

The General Director of Population, Family, and Schools Health Office of the Ministry of Health said "According to statistics from the 2011 census, the pregnancy rate has reached 1.8 which has to be raised to 2.1. Meanwhile, the educated are unwilling to have more than one child.”

Tasnim reports Mohammad Esmail Motlaq saying "To prevent a negative growth of population, which according to statistics will begin, if things go as they are, around 2040, it is necessary to take measures in order to take the index in the shortest possible time to 2.1 (the replacement rate) and above.”
