Tehran, YJC. Indonesia Ambassador to Iran says the US Embassy in Indonesia has committed itself to damaging Iran-Indonesia relations.

Indonesia Ambassador to Iran Dian Wirengjurit who was speaking with the Islamic Republic’s Fars news agency pointed out that a number of Indonesian tradesmen who were going to make a trip to Iran have cancelled their trip under pressure by US diplomats.

"A group of 15 tradesmen and women from Indonesia were going to visit Tehran to evaluate trade opportunities. But some of them cancelled their trip due to threats by the US Embassy. The rest of the team, though, went on their trip.”

He further said that as the tradesmen were threatened to lose their opportunities to engage in trade with the US if they visited Iran, seven of them decided not to go to Iran.

US Embassy officials in Jakarta had invited the 15 tradesmen to the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce just as they going to embark for Iran, where they disclosed to them the decision that they would not be favored by the US to trade with if they were going to be business partners of Iran.
