Hamas military wing marks anniversary of Israel’s failed Gaza raidTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club(YJC)_The operation marked the first Israeli incursion into Gaza since the 2014 Israeli war. The failed undercover operation resulted in the killing of one Israeli officer and wounding of another.

In a statement, Hamas’s military wing said it won’t allow Israel to undermine the security of Gaza. It also vowed to reveal more details about the failed operation and the achievements of the resistance movement.

According to Hamas, on November 11, 2018, members of an elite Israeli military unit infiltrated Gaza on a spying mission and traveled in the enclave using cars disguised as vehicles belonging to a local charity. However, the undercover soldiers were spotted near Khan Younis in the south of the Gaza Strip. An Israeli army officer and seven Palestinians, including a local Hamas military commander, were killed in the ensuing exchange of fire.

After the failed operation, Hamas managed to capture equipment used by the Israeli forces and published photos of eight people and two vehicles linked to the raid. Despite the continuous Israeli threats of a coming aggression against Gaza, this military parade comes as a message for Israel that the Resistance is ongoing and ready for any possible aggression.
