Tehran, YJC. Iranian cleric says the Wahhabists have got the wrong impression of the Quran.
Ayatollah Jafar Sobhani, Shiite marja’, said on Saturday evening "Today the Wahhabists easily dub all Muslims other than themselves as pagans; whereas where can one find a Muslim who would be disturbed by hearing ‘La ilaha illa Allah’. All Muslims rather believe in monotheism.”
Pointing to the Wahhabists way of referring to the Quran he said "As we ponder the Wahhabist outlooks we come to understand that they do not make a right sense of the Quran.”
"Unlike God, the more power they gain, turning into kings or getting access to some position, the crueler they become. The crime that we witness throughout the world is the result of such violence, whereas God treats even the sinful kindly if they repent,” the ayatollah stated.
