Saturday, 05 September 2020_Member of the board directors and deputy head of airport operation at IKAC announced the resumption of weekly flights of Iran Air between Tehran and Madrid after 17 years.

IKIA resumes weekly flights to Madrid (MAD)Following a series of actions taken by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran through coordination with the Civil Aviation Organization, the Airlines of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Iran Air) as well as Spanish domestic institutions, the license of ordinary Flights of Iran Air on the Tehran-Madrid route was received and accordingly, the flights will be operated on Wednesday of each week as of September 2, 2020, under the scheduled flight program, IKAC News reported.

Member of the board directors and deputy head of airport operation at IKAC, Mohammadreza Karimiyan said that currently, many flights operate from Imam Khomeini International Airport to European cities including London, Moscow, Paris, Amsterdam, Milan, Vienna and Manchester

Passengers arriving by air must provide negative Covid-19 test results in English to gain entry to Iran their PCR tests for the coronavirus must have been conducted not more than 72 hours before boarding, he added.

Iran's Embassy in Madrid has been working extensively on the resumption of the flight, which had been suspended since the beginning of the 2001s, and hopes that this important step in bilateral relations can strengthen the ties between the two nations.
