Saturday, 10 April 2021 (YJC)_Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs said signing lifting of the sanctions is not enough and Iran should see the actions and effects of it.
The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, elaborated on the three-day talks in Vienna that merely signing lifting of the sanctions is not enough for the US and Iran should see the actions and effects of it.
He hailed efforts made by two working group of sanctions and Iran’s measures and added “It is still necessary to continue negotiations as lifting sanctions is a complicated matter.”
“The US has left the negotiating table and should return to it,” he said while adding that “US should at first lift sanctions and then become a member of the JCPOA then Iran will return to full implementation of commitments.”
“It is not enough for the United States to simply sign the lifting of sanctions,” he said while noting the fact that “Return to the JCPOA model is vital and the US president is the one who has the power to do that.”
“for Iran seeing the effects of sanctions lifting is of high importance,” he said.
Finally, Araghchi referred to a three-month agreement between Iran and the IAEA and said “Should the agreement been expired, the additional protocol will become a serious matter since the IAEA will lose its stability and inspection.”
