The Russian embassy in Washington says US troops have no legal permission to stay in Syria.
This statement is in response to a recent tweet from Wayne Maruto, the US spokesman for the so-called anti-ISIS coalition, who claimed that US forces were present in northeastern Syria in accordance with international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2254 of December 2015.
