Most Americans say rising grocery and household goods prices are causing them financial hardship, and nearly 80 percent blame the Biden administration’s economic policies, a new poll says.
About 70 percent of Americans say the national economy is currently in bad shape and the majority — 86 percent — are concerned about inflation, according to Granthshala news poll Released on Wednesday.
Of those polled, 86 percent blamed the COVID-19 pandemic for the price hike, and 79 percent blamed the Biden administration’s economic policies.
The survey said rising grocery and gas costs are causing financial hardship for 70 percent of people earning less than $50,000.
More than 50 percent of those earning $100,000 say the price hike has been hard on them, too.
“The pressure that low-income households are feeling on food and fuel is not surprising, and it highlights the risk that inflation could push families over the financial edge,” pollster Chris Anderson said.
The survey, conducted by Beacon Research and Shaw & Company Research, was conducted between 7-10 August. It polled 1,002 randomly selected registered voters across the country.
