Friday, 3 September 2021 (YJC)_ In a phone call with his Chinese counterpart, Iranian Foreign Minister put emphasis on the implementation of the strategic partnership agreement with China.

Iranian FM to Chinese Counterpart: Iran, China Should Implement strategic partnership agreementIn his phone call on Friday with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi the Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian put emphasis on the implementation of the strategic partnership agreement with China.

He appreciated China for supporting Iran membership in Shanghai Cooperation Organization and named the US' unilateralism as a threat to international peace and stability.

Amir-Abdollahian went on to say that Iran and China ties are based on strategic friendship and traditional partnership and added “the goal of the 13th Iranian government is to promote the stronger ties with China.”

Iranian FM also pointed out the importance of receiving more vaccines in the framework of the agreement between the two presidents.

Establishing an all-inclusive government with participation of all Afghan groups, fighting terrorism and narcotics as an important priority, sending humanitarian aid and making efforts to keep border crossings open were among issues that were highlighted by both FMs.

For his part, Wang Yi stressed Chinese President Xi Jinping's determination for developing bilateral relations with Iran, and said “No developments or impediment in the international level can disturb relations between the two countries.”

The Chinese FM also announced about China's readiness for implementing previous agreements namely the 25-year-old strategic partnership document.

He finally announced that “large volumes of Sinopharm vaccine will be sent to Iran within days.”
