Wednesday, 8 September 2021 (YJC)_ Afghanistan's representative to the United Nations said the government announced by the Taliban was not inclusive.
According to Reuters, Ghulam Ishaqzai, Afghanistan's representative to the United Nations, in his speech in response to the formation of the Afghan government by the Taliban at the UN General Assembly meeting stressed: The government that the Taliban formed can by no means be considered comprehensive.
He added: We call on the members of the international community to help us promote a culture of peace in Afghanistan. We urge you to reject the Islamic Emirate so that the Taliban can take responsibility for their violations of international human rights principles and insist on an inclusive government.
Ishaqzai said: We ask you to draw a red line so that the rights of women and girls are not shaken.
Ishaqzai has been appointed by the government of Ashraf Ghani, the former president of Afghanistan, and the United Nations has previously said that the Taliban has not requested a change of representative in Afghanistan.
