These three islands have been an integral part of Iranian territory, and any claim to the contrary is categorically rejected. Nevertheless, and to show its utmost respect for the principle of good neighborliness, Iran has always stated its readiness for a bilateral dialogue with the UAE with the aim of eliminating any misunderstandings that may exist on the part of the UAE over Abu Musa Island. .

The delegation of the Islamic Republic of Iran also reiterated the need to use the correct name of the Persian Gulf in response to the remarks of the UAE representative at the General Assembly meeting and the use of the pseudonym of the Persian Gulf.

The Iranian delegation replied:
The UAE representative should also be reminded that the correct term "Persian Gulf" has been used since 500 BC to refer to the watershed between the Arabian Peninsula and the Iranian plateau, and will remain so forever.
