Monday, 18 October 2021 (YJC)_ Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister strongly criticized the passive approach by E3 regarding JCPOA.

Iranian Official Blasted EU for its Passive Approach regarding JCPOADuring a meeting with Secretary-General of the Austrian Foreign Ministry Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri Kani harshly criticized the passive approach by E3 (France, the UK and Germany) in fulfilling their obligations under JCPOA.

The 5th round of political talks between Iran and Austria was held in Tehran co-chaired by Baqeri Kani and Launsky-Tieffentha.

“Europe failed to comply with its obligations after the US unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA,” Baqeri Kani noted.

He went on to refer to the long-term history of relations between the two countries of Iran and Austria and noted Iran’s adherence to its obligations under the JCPOA while saying “After withdrawal of the US from this important international agreement, EU did not take effective and practical action within the framework of its obligations under the nuclear deal.”

For his part, the Austrian Foreign Ministry said that “mutual respect and understanding” is the core of the relations among two countries.

He went on to refer to the high capabilities and potentials of the two countries regarding economic and put an emphasis on the fact that Austrian firms have had active presence in Iran.
