British officials say a passenger train derailed and collided with another train on the opposite lane in the southern city of Salisbury.
The Associated Press quoted London officials as saying that several people were injured in the incident.
According to the report, the British Rail Network announced that the rear car of the train derailed after colliding with an object 70 miles away from Salisbury station in southwest London, and then another train collided with it. The accident also cut off all signals from the network.
The British Rail Network reported that several people were injured in the accident, but did not provide exact figures. No one was killed in the crash, British transport police said, adding that rescue teams had been dispatched to the area.
