Monday, 8 November 2021 (YJC)_ On the second day of the main stages of the Zulfiqar Joint Army exercise, the Tariq and Ghadir submarines confronted surface and subsurface targets.

Admiral Amir Seyed Mohammad Mousavi, spokesman for the Zulfiqar 1400 joint exercise, announced the news:
During this exercise, the Tariq submarine hit its surface target by firing a torpedo, and the native Ghadir submarine was able to destroy its target at sea by firing an advanced and all-Iranian Valfajr torpedo.

He continued by pointing to the launch of a DM1 mine from the Tariq submarine at this stage of the exercise:
Also in another part of the exercise, naval units using the electronic warfare drone and anti-radiation radar "Omid" from the origin of surface units at sea managed to disrupt enemy radars on the coast.

Admiral Amir Mousavi mentioned the use of local equipment and weapons in this exercise as one of its strengths and added:
With the unceasing jihad of young scientists and specialists in the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Ministry of Defense, knowledge-based companies and other scientific and research centers of the country, today we rely entirely on internal capacities to meet defense needs and demonstrate defense authority The use of indigenous equipment and weapons can be considered as a clear reason for the ineffectiveness of the enemies' arms sanctions in the years after the Islamic Revolution.
