Monday, 29 November 2021 (YJC)_ The Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade stated that the purpose of his visit to Syria was to expand economic relations with Syria in various sectors and said: "We are trying to balance the trade balance between the two countries."
Seyed Reza Fatemi Amin, headed by a delegation of our country's economic activists, arrived in Damascus this Monday morning.
Explaining the purpose of the visit, the Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade, who visited Syria at the invitation of the Syrian Minister of Economy, Samer Al-Khalil, said:
My focus in this trip is on economic relations in various sectors with Syria, and we can even have multilateral plans.
He added:
Many products can be produced in Syria and exported to other Arab countries and the region.
Regarding the promotion of trade and economic cooperation, Fatemi Amin said:
The first point we will focus on is balancing the trade balance between the two countries; Certainly, Syria is facing serious economic problems, and unilateral exports may not be a viable option, so the key point is to establish a balanced economic relationship that benefits both sides.
Fatemi Amin added:
We have prepared a number of practical proposals that we will share with the Syrian ministers so that perhaps a practical and agile picture of the two countries' economic cooperation can be drawn.
During the meeting, Syrian Minister of Economy Samer Al-Khalil also said:
The country's new investment law provides good opportunities.
Samar Al-Khalil added:
Iranian companies have significant experience and capabilities, we are interested in taking advantage of the opportunities ahead in the shadow of customs and tax exemptions.
He said:
There is no doubt that the economic authorities of Tehran and Damascus sought trade and economic development that would serve the interests of both countries.
