Tuesday, 7 December 2021 (YJC)_ Iranian Parliament Speaker urged for the further development of economic and political relations with Syria.
In a meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf called for the further development of economic and political relations and cooperation between the two countries.
“The most important issue for Tehran and Damascus is to boost mutual economic cooperation,” Iranian Parliament speaker noted.
“Our enemies are looking for gaining what they have lost through economic war and this is why we must try to be successful in economic and political fields,” he added.
Qalibaf went on to put emphasis on the fact that Damascus needs to promote intra-Syrian talks to tackle security issues and announced that Iran is ready to play a role in this regard.
For his part, Syrian Foreign Minister said that the Syrian government consider Iranian parliament speaker’s visit, which took place in late July, a sign of Iranians’ backing for the Syrian nation and parliament.
