Tehran, YJC. Iran’s Naval Commander Rear-admiral Habibollah Sayyari said that forces under his command are planned to hold the 3rd series of Velayat exercises early next year.
"The Iranian naval forces have so far taken voyages to Red
Sea, the Suez Canal, the Straits of Gibraltar, the southern Indian Ocean, Bay
of Bengal and the Pacific,” said Sayyari while visiting the 20th Press
and News Agencies Exhibition in Tehran on Friday.
The Iranian navy has grown from a shallow margin naval force
to a strategic one which is able to be present on the international free
waters, he pointed out.
He added that Iran’s 32nd fleet is at the Red
Sea, adding that the Navy is planning voyages to the Atlantic and Southern
Ocean.
He also stated that the Velayat3 Exercises are planned to be
held in January 2015.
