Sunday, 19 December 2021 (YJC)_ The extraordinary meeting of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation will be hosted by Islamabad today and will be held on the subject of Afghanistan.

The subject of this meeting is the situation in Afghanistan.

The meeting is being held at the request of Saudi Arabia as chair of the OIC Summit.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan will address a special session of parliament.

The conference will begin with remarks by Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who will chair the meeting.

In a tweet, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan welcomed the arrival of delegations from OIC member states, observers, friends, partners and international organizations to Pakistan.

He said:
The extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is an expression and symbol of solidarity with the people of Afghanistan and the concentration of our collective energies to address the dire humanitarian situation in this country.
