Friday, 14 January 2022 (YJC)_ Iran’s envoy to the United Nations announced that consultations with the United Nations are continuing to take back Iran’s voting right.

Takht Ravanchi: Iran Wants its Membership Rights to UN ASAPReferring to the suspension of Iran’s voting rights and depositing its membership fee with the United Nations, Iran's Permanent Ambassador to the United Nations Majid Takht Ravanchi announced the talks with the UN are continuing to take back Iran’s voting right.

“US sanctions against Iran impedes the country’s way to pay its debts to the UN for the second year in a row, however, Iran was committed to paying its membership fee in a timely manner,” he noted, while adding that the US sanctions also created serious problems in various fields such as humanitarian aids, and medicine.

Takht Ravanchi also noted that “following discussions with the UN officials, last year using its forieng financial sources, Iran managed to tackle the issue, now we have the financial resources to pay our debts on time but the US sanctions is preventing us.”

Iranian official finally announced that the country is ready and willing to discuss the issue with the UN officials and hoped it will be solved in the shortest time possible.
