Sunday, 30 January 2022 (YJC)_ "The Islamic Republic of Iran has the right to distrust the United States," the French president said in a telephone call with Raeisi.

French President: Iran has a right to distrust the United StatesThe President of France, Emmanuel Macron, had a telephone conversation with the President of our country, Seyed Ibrahim Raeisi.

Strategies to strengthen bilateral relations, regional issues and the latest status of sanctions lifting talks in Vienna were the focus of this telephone conversation.

Referring to the US acknowledgment of the failure of the policy of maximum pressure, Raeisi emphasized in this telephone conversation:
In the negotiation process, the Islamic Republic has demonstrated its will and seriousness to reach an agreement, and any effort by the other side in this regard must include the lifting of sanctions, verification and a valid guarantee.

Emphasizing that regional stability and security can only be achieved through internal regional solutions and not foreign interventions, Raeisi called on the international community to pay attention to the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and lift the siege of the oppressed people of the country.

The French president also stressed that the Islamic Republic of Iran has the right to distrust the United States because it was the United States that caused the crisis.

Emmanuel Macron also condemned the military aggression against the Yemeni people, especially the recent attacks.

Developments in the region, including the situation in Lebanon, were other topics of discussion between the presidents of Iran and France.
