Amir-Abdollahian's request to his Hungarian counterpart to facilitate the transfer of Iranians to Hungary via IranToday (Friday), the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, had a telephone conversation with his Hungarian counterpart, Peter Siarto.

The foreign ministers discussed the Ukraine crisis and cooperation to facilitate the return of Iranians living in Ukraine to Iran.

In this conversation, the head of the diplomatic service, while expressing concern over the previous actions taken by NATO in creating a crisis in the Eastern European region, stressed the support of political solutions to resolve the crisis in Ukraine.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister also expressed strong concern over the start of military operations and acknowledged the need to use political and diplomatic solutions, and expressed hope that the dimensions of the crisis would be managed and controlled as soon as possible.

Amir Abdullahian also called for Hungarian humanitarian assistance to facilitate the transfer of Iranians living in Ukraine to Hungary through Hungary, saying:
Iranian citizens, including students, families of diplomats and other Iranians living in Ukraine, want to enter the Polish-Hungarian border to return to Iran.

The Hungarian Foreign Minister also announced:
The country will spare no effort to follow the transfer of Iranian citizens through Hungary and will issue the necessary orders to accept Iranians without a visa on Hungarian soil and provide immediate facilities for their return to our country.

Amir Abdullahian also thanked the Hungarian government for its efforts to help and provide the necessary facilities to Iranians living in Ukraine to leave the country safely.
