Thursday, 10 March 2022 (YJC)_ The Director General of the International Energy Agency announced his visit to Turkey to participate in trilateral talks to resolve the Ukraine crisis.

The director general of the IAEA is going to Turkey to attend the Ukraine talksRafael Grossi, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, will also travel to Turkey after the Russian and Ukrainian foreign ministers agreed to visit Antalya and negotiate a solution to the crisis between the two countries.

Grossi announced that he would travel to the Turkish city of Antalya on Thursday to attend talks between Russian and Ukrainian Foreign Ministers Sergei Lavrov and Dmitry Koleba.

According to Reuters, he offered the Russian and Ukrainian sides to discuss the nuclear security situation in Ukraine.

The Director General of the Atomic Agency said:
I will travel to Antalya tomorrow. In the meetings that are being held there, I hope that progress will be made on the urgent issue of ensuring the safety and security of Ukraine's nuclear facilities. We must act now.

According to the report, the IAEA did not respond to a request from Reuters to comment on a trilateral meeting with Grossi in Turkey.

Grossi had previously said he had lost access to Ukraine's Chernobyl nuclear information systems and that no further information would be passed on to the agency.
