"I am concerned that we are edging closer to a new Cold War and there is growing distrust. But all this refers to a more general picture - relations between the West and Russia," Finnish President Sauli Niinisto said on Monday.
"If we are talking about Finland, we will see no particular tension in relations with Russia," the president said.
"Although we certainly belong to the Western world, we have special relations with Russia since we are neighbours as well. It is in our interests that these good-neighbourly relations will not deteriorate and that there will be no signs of a Cold War," he added.
