Tuesday, 12 April 2022 (YJC)_ Qatar signed a bilateral aviation cooperation agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Increasing cooperation between Iran and Qatar in the aviation sectorSenior officials from the Islamic Republic of Iran and Qatar signed a bilateral aviation operational agreement on Monday.

According to the Qatranet website, the agreement was signed in the presence of Jassim bin Saif al-Sulayti, Iran's Minister of Transport and Communications, and Rostam Ghasemi, Iran's Minister of Roads and Urban Development, to increase flights between Qatar and Iran.

During the meeting, Iranian and Qatari officials stressed the need to strengthen cooperation in the fields of transportation, shipping, port management, and support for strengthening and facilitating transportation and trade between the two countries' ports, as well as exploring private investment opportunities.

The Minister of Sports and Youth of Iran recently announced the visit of the Minister of Roads of Qatar to Iran to negotiate to host the World Cup.

"Seyed Hamid Sajjadi," Iran's Minister of Sports and Youth, spoke about the capacity of the country's free zones to host some football and World Cup fans:
"Following the interactions and friendship between Iran and Qatar, the Ministry of Sports and Youth tends to continue these ties and connections in the field of sports."

Sajjadi continued: "These interactions, along with highlighting the country's sports capacity, can be an opportunity to strengthen other issues such as tourism, passenger transportation, etc. Given the presence of World Cup fans in the free zones, we can boost public transport capacity, especially by sea, for this opportunity.

He added:
The offer of the two cities of Kish and Qeshm to host World Cup fans could lead to the strengthening of relations between the two countries in interactions and communication. The southern cities of the country, especially the beautiful island of Kish, are better equipped to discuss hoteling and the services we should provide to tourists, and coordination meetings have begun in the form of meetings and talks.

Qatar is one of the countries in the south of the Persian Gulf that has warm relations with Iran. The Qatari foreign minister recently stressed that a regional dialogue between the Cooperation Council and Iran is necessary to resolve common issues and concerns.

Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani said:
Regional dialogue between the Cooperation Council and Iran is essential to resolving common issues and concerns. We look forward to the success of the nuclear deal with Iran soon and the start of the second phase of the security framework with the participation of the countries of the region.

He said:
We hope that the Vienna talks will lead to an agreement on Iran's nuclear program, and we encourage that agreement.
