According to the Xinhua news agency, Xi wrote in a message to French President Emmanuel Macron that over the past five years, the development of comprehensive Beijing-Paris strategic cooperation, led by the leaders of the two countries, has maintained its high level.

The President of China added:
The two countries continued to cooperate pragmatically in various fields, including the fight against the coronavirus, working together to establish multilateralism on the world stage, and to renew their commitment to the development of EU-China relations and to the establishment of peace, stability and Welfare contributed internationally.

Noting that China and France are both important countries in maintaining their independence, Xi said that this is an important factor in the stability of Beijing-Paris relations in the midst of complex global changes.

He wrote a congratulatory message to Macron:

According to the unofficial results of the second round of the French presidential election, Emmanuel Macron defeated his far-right rival, Marine Le Pen, with 58% of the vote.
