Karzai: Afghan rulers have no will to clash with IranSeyed Hassan Mortazavi, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kabul, met with former President Hamid Karzai on the eve of Eid al-Fitr.

Hamid Karzai, referring to some news published in recent days about the occurrence of some border clashes between Iran and Afghanistan, said:
What I receive from the behavior and actions of the leaders and elders of the new government is that the will of this government is not a conflict with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The leaders of Afghanistan's caretaker government emphasize the principle of good neighborliness and strive to do so.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has been hosting a large number of our refugees for decades, and we understand the situation in Tehran. We hope that with the advent of peace and security and the improvement of the economic situation in Afghanistan, the Afghan people will be able to return to their country.

While congratulating the Iranian people and officials on Eid al-Fitr, Karzai said:
We call on the Islamic Republic of Iran, with the cooperation of countries and regional powers, to take action to assist Afghanistan and to put decisions and measures on the agenda to improve the situation of the people of this country.
