Friday, 27 May 2022 (YJC)_ The agreement on technical and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and China was signed in the city of Tashkent in the presence of officials of the two countries.

The agreement was signed by Aziz Wahidov, First Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan, and Jiang Yan, Chinese Ambassador to Tashkent.

The agreement envisions providing 250m yuan ($ 37.5 million) in grants for joint social projects in Uzbekistan.

So far, in the framework of technical and economic cooperation between the two countries, projects in the fields of health, education, agriculture and water management, culture, transportation and other fields have been implemented.

China is now Uzbekistan's largest economic and trade partner.

There are currently more than 700 companies in Uzbekistan with Chinese investor capital, including more than 80 companies with 100% Chinese investor capital in various sectors of the economy.

The People's Republic of China recognized the independence of Uzbekistan on December 27, 1991, and established diplomatic relations on January 2, 1992.
