Nowruz road accidents lower 8 percent

Tehran, YJC. The Chief of Police of the Islamic Republic of Iran has said that this year statistics show a 8-percent reduction in Nowruz holiday traffic accidents.

Esmail Ahmadi Moghaddam said in the sidelines of his visit to the Fadak accommodation camp in Isfahan "All the facilities needed for 15 thousand tourists are provided for in the Fadak garden by respective organizations, especially Isfahan Municipality.”

He emphasized that Isfahan is the top province in attracting Nowruz tourism and added "In the past 8 years, the Staff for Travel Facilities of Isfahan has offered very precious service to the travelers.”

Esmail Ahmadi Moghaddam also said that the Staff for Travel Facilities of Isfahan has provided the Nowruz travelers with peace and security.

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Chief of Police added that the Nowruz travels have begun on March 15. "But,” he added "people travel more wisely than before so that the traffic is distributed among different cities.”

He also said that road accidents are 8 percent lower compared to the same period last year and stated "Traffic on roads leading to Mazandaran, Isfahan, Mashhad, and Gilan is heavy but moving.”

He also said that to provide security 250 thousand of the police forces are on duty each shift to watch over houses, roads, and people.
