Monday, 30 May 2022 (YJC)_ Kyrgyzstan's political science expert says regional security and Central Asian countries depend on trade relations with Afghanistan, which will become one of the region's economic partners in the future.

Kyrgyz expert: Afghanistan to become Central Asian economic partnerDenis Berdakov, a Kyrgyz political scientist, noted:
The countries of Central Asia will become more economically united and converged in the coming years, and Afghanistan may be among them.

Berdakov at the International Roundtable "Afghanistan in the Framework of World Politics; "Terrorism as a threat to the Central Asian region," he said.
The second round of regional integration launched by Uzbekistan in 2017 has begun, which will boost economic co-operation and agricultural activity.

Berdakov stressed:
This process of convergence may affect the situation of the Fergana Valley and help the people of this region in the field of agriculture, because in the past it was mentioned that the people of this region should abandon agriculture.

He added:
Of course, in the future, there will not be enough water resources for agricultural development in some countries in the region, while the agricultural industry will create fewer jobs than other industries.

He noted about Afghanistan:
Today, the Taliban are in power in Afghanistan and nothing can be done about it, otherwise a new civil war in this country is inevitable in any form. The only option is to involve Afghanistan as much as possible in a highly specialized regional economic integration on a small scale.

The political expert of the region noted:
The security that economic cooperation with Afghanistan creates for Central Asia is more than nuclear weapons, and from this perspective, trade relations with this country are more important for the region in every way.
